WE ARE HELPING AN ELECTRICAL VEHICLE TO LOOK FOR A BATTERY PACK ENGINEER

Candidate persona: motorcycle enthusiast

s:

• Complete product design responsibility – from concept through production launch and ramp.
• Perform battery pack performance, thermal, and life analysis under given driving cycles and ambient conditions to guide pack sizing, performance compliance, and pack thermal management system design.
• Collaborate with the Vehicle Integration team to gather and document electrical requirements for battery packs and systems.
• Determine root-cause of test failures and production problems.
• Challenge industry standards (as well as our own) to continually raise the bar.
• Build CFD models for battery module and pack-level thermal fluid analysis.
• Optimize designs via analytical, numerical, and empirical assessments.
• Liaise with purchasing, quality, and suppliers to guarantee that parts meet quality requirements.
• Actively participate in the prototype battery pack and system build and validation tests.
• Develop technical requirements and validation plan for battery electrical system design.
• Support purchasing and quality team in supplier identification, evaluation, and qualification.
• Communicate with suppliers for DFM (design for manufacturing) feedback and tool development.
• Size the major electrical components in a battery system, such as relays, fuses, current and temperature sensors, MSD, HV/LV wire harnesses, and connectors.
• Conduct system-level thermal analysis using proprietary software to determine battery cooling concepts and size components for a battery thermal management system.
• Support continuous product and process improvement.

Requirements:

• Key experience: Product R&D and/or engineering experience in power unit, chassis. Vehicle design (motorcycle dynamic, aerodynamics, ergonomy).
• Working experience with electrical tools.
• Working experience designing high voltage electrical systems.
• 5+ years of experience and expertise in Automotive and/or EV industry (Yamaha, Honda, Tesla, BMW Motorrad, Triumph, Ducati, Damon, Zero, Moto GP, and F1).
• Experience with component design, analysis, and validation.
• Effective problem-solving skills, and good attention to detail.
• Working experience with vehicle CAN networks.
• Working knowledge of safety principles, best-practices, and functional safety.
• Education background in electrical engineering or automotive engineering.
