They are also responsible for ensuring the security and reliability of the system and its applications. Detailed Job Description A Linux System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux-based systems. They must be knowledgeable in the installation and configuration of Linux operating systems, as well as the installation and configuration of applications and services. They must also be knowledgeable in the security of Linux systems, including the implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices. Additionally, they must be knowledgeable in the troubleshooting of Linux systems, including the diagnosis and resolution of system and application issues. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems, including installation and configuration
• Knowledge of Linux security, including the implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices
• Knowledge of Linux troubleshooting, including the diagnosis and resolution of system and application issues
• Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Bash, Python, and Perl
• Knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as KVM and Xen
• Knowledge of storage technologies, such as RAID and LVM
• Knowledge of system monitoring tools, such as Nagios and Cacti
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration
• Certification in Linux system administration (e.g. Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA))
