Description:


This position is to provide the resource necessary to oversee the Underground Loader fleet in the Grasberg Block Cave underground mine. The TE, UG Loader Maintenance position will be the advisor on maintenance practices, procedures and will supply technical knowledge to the national workforce on the mechanical and electrical systems of the Cat 1700 Loader fleet.


Additional Responsibilities:


  • Review inventories periodically to ensure sufficient spares are available, and are stocked in an economical method
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of maintenance work to ensure the UG loader fleets meets compliance.
  • Work/ liaise with Operations team to identify and correct improper operating practices that are contributing to equipment damage and planned downtime.
  • Review and evaluate daily, weekly and monthly equipment performance reports, in order to ensure accuracy, and to ensure the equipment availability target achievement
  • Provide technical instructional support to national Staff & Non-Staff for all maintenance activities as a guidance to ensure all works are comply with international standard, completed in safe manner, within budget, and on schedule
  • Adhere to Fresh standards and fully participate in SHE measurements, programs and advancement of the programs.
  • Liaise with the UG loader OEM to ensure the loader fleet is maintained to standards and product issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Monitor budget vs actual costs and look for ways to implement cost efficiency measure on the underground loader fleet
  • Train, develop, coach, and motivate technicians to enhance their skill, knowledge, and capability to an acceptable high standard and develop written program to transfer knowledge.
  • Assist in the management of UG loader shops to include, improvements, safety programs, warehousing and personnel issues
  • Implement safety standards and procedures within work area to minimize accident and damage.


Qualifications


  • Decision making skill.
  • A training/teaching capability.
  • Analytical and synthesis skill, including problem analysis, cost and financial analysis.
  • A sound knowledge of Computer systems.
  • A sound knowledge of Pneumatics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical with up to five (5) years of experience on underground mining equipment OR Trade Certificate in electrical and mechanical with up to five (5) years of experience post trade.
  • A sound knowledge of Hydraulics systems.
  • Leadership and supervisory skill.
  • Other PTFI mandatory competencies.
  • Computer literacy for diagnostic purpose.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance system.
  • Experience in dealing with cultural diversity.
  • A sound knowledge of Electrical systems.
  • A sound knowledge of Mechanical systems.
