Within Packaging Capex and Utilities, the Global Procurement Utilities & Decarbonisation lead is responsible for the sourcing strategy development, implementation, and procurement in the Utilities procurement category, with spend of about 630Mn+ Euro annually, for Unilever globally. This role will be responsible to achieve our decarbonization strategy to Scope 1, 2 and 3 (Green House Gas (GHG) emissions that the company makes directly and indirectly in all value chain) from a Procurement standpoint in support of our business strategy covering Asia region. This role forms a key business partner with Supply chain, Sustainability team and Engineering at supply chain sites.

The Procurement Utilities and Decarbonisation Asia manager will increase effectiveness of our Utilities and Green Energy procurement market by creating an expertise-driven model, streamlining accountabilities, building capabilities, developing market alternatives, and leveraging knowledge, relationships, and business strategies across markets.

He/she will increase efficiency of our Utiliites and Decarb procurement by driving scale where it makes sense, decreasing fragmentation, pooling expertise across Asia region, prioritizing higher impact spend areas, leveraging technology and data, and delivering on best practices.

He/She will leverage the interdependencies between our own manufacturing decarbonization knowledge/solutions and our suppliers decarbonization program.

Key Accountabilities

• Deliver against financial targets and other KPIs (including value delivery) as per business plan objectives
• Future proof the portfolio by driving digital approaches, while building technology enablers to help manage selected portfolio and scope
• Lead Supplier relationships and implement Partners with Purpose strategy with critical suppliers
• Accountable for the implementation of the Utilities Procurement strategies and best practices in North Asia and SEEA,
• Connect strategy & execution aligned to Unilever Compass, Global Divisions, Functions & Markets goals and priorities, aligned with Procurement Lighthouse strategies and principles
• Deliver transformational sourcing strategies, operating models, and supplier relationships to redefine our procurement approach to outsourcing including a focus on Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing strategies
• Lead a geographically dispersed team in Asia region to inspire, develop, and support our people, deliver results, and create and promote a healthy business culture
• Understand the business needs related to Utilities and Decarbonization program, and bring deep expertise and insights across the value chain and supply base to translate the business requirements into effective future-fit procurement strategies
• Support and guide procurement organization in Asia (North Asia and SEEA) Factories to meet their U&W targets and objectives.
• Lead internal performance management and reporting including creation and stewardship of relevant key performance indicators
• Manage Utilities price forecast, estimate risks and create risks mitigation plans
• Ensure Portfolio fundamentals (i.e. data consistency, data insights, recurring stakeholder communications, contracts, etc.) are all put in place

Qualification/experience

Experience Required:

• Strategic sourcing, portfolio strategy expertise, with experience in managing complex portfolio/category, at global or multi-regional level
• Experience in implementing Utilites and Sustainability Capex related projects is a plus
• Experience in shaping and leading transformational business process reengineering, with experience driving Change Management initiatives.
• Experience in strategic supplier relationship management and large-scale project management
• Fully operational on negotiation and contracting levers
• Direct or Indirect Procurement experience. Utilities and Decarbonization related field is a plus.
• Working knowledge of main aspects of Forecasting, hedging and various procurement tools and processes like CPM.
• Demonstrated and proven leadership capabilities to lead a virtual team

Travel

International travel required 25% time.

Leads a virtual team across Asia composed by one manager and assistants that are responsible for a defined geographical scope under a BG strategy connection. The team is currently under expansion requests due to Unilever a growing decarbonization agenda.
