Social Media Marketing (SMM)Position Description


Job Title: Social Media Marketing (SMM) Assistant for EducationUSA Indonesia

About the Role:

The SMM Assistant will play a pivotal role in executing the social media strategy for our EducationUSA Indonesia project. This project is aimed at promoting higher education opportunities in the United States among Indonesian students. We're seeking a candidate who can harness the power of social media to increase our online presence and improve our marketing and outreach efforts. This role involves promoting educational fairs and various other projects aimed at advancing higher education in the United States.

EducationUSA is committed to promoting the diversity of U.S. higher education to help international students find their “best fit” U.S. higher education Institution according to their needs, skills, and goals.


Location: Remote, but preferably Jakarta or Makassar

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed performance reports, using data to drive continuous improvement in strategy and output.
  • Maintain a pulse on social media trends, advising on potential opportunities and strategies.
  • Develop, execute, and manage targeted advertising campaigns via Meta Business Suite and other relevant platforms, optimizing for efficiency and impact.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency of brand messaging and to leverage cross-functional insights.
  • Leverage social media analytics to generate actionable insights, informing strategy development and decision-making.
  • Strategically manage and produce content across multiple platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube) to enhance audience engagement, with a particular focus on promoting educational fairs and other related projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Fluent in English and Indonesian.
  • Experience with social media software, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Similar Web, and other relevant tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing targeted advertising campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics with the ability to interpret data and translate into actionable strategies.
  • Proven experience in social media marketing or digital media.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior work on U.S. Department of State network projects or as a U.S. government-sponsored exchange program participant is desirable but not mandatory.
  • US graduate is preferable but not necessary
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Experience in content creation.
  • 1-2 years of experience in social media management.


DECISION MAKING

The SMM works with social media coordinator, Public Affair Section US Embassy, and educationUSA Indonesia manager for making decisions


SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The Educational Adviser reports directly to the EducationUSA Indonesia manager, with significant influence and support from the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta
