The Project Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator is a crucial role within a construction, engineering, or industrial project in Indonesia. The primary responsibility of the Project HSE Coordinator is to ensure that all aspects of health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies are adhered to throughout the duration of the project. This role is essential in preventing accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents, as well as ensuring compliance with local and international HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Safety Culture Promotion: Promote a strong safety culture within the project team, emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility for safety and the well-being of colleagues.
• Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard identification for the project site and its activities. Implement risk mitigation measures and communicate safety guidelines to all personnel involved.
• HSE Documentation: Maintain accurate and up to date HSE documentation, including incident reports, inspection records, and training records.
• Communication: Communicate regularly with project management, subcontractors, and stakeholders to provide HSE updates, share best practices, and address any concerns.
• Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential HSE issues and verify compliance with safety standards.
• Training and Induction: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for all project employees and subcontractors to enhance their awareness of safety protocols and procedures.
• Environmental Management: Implement measures to minimize the project's impact on the environment, including waste management, pollution control, and sustainable practices.
• HSE Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with all relevant HSE laws, regulations, and standards set forth by Indonesian authorities, as well as any project specific HSE requirements.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure that all personnel are adequately trained to respond effectively to emergencies.
• Incident Reporting and Investigation: Establish a robust incident reporting system, promptly investigate any accidents, incidents, or near-misses, and ensure that corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.

Must Have

• Professional certifications in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) are often preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Indonesian HSE regulations and standards, as well as international best practices.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is typically required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders effectively.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems.
• Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, and take initiative to improve safety practices.
• Proven experience in a similar HSE coordination role within the construction, engineering, or industrial sector.
