Job Description

Our client is looking for a Payroll Specialist to be in a remote capacity supporting the East Coast.


Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing and managing the organization's payroll to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees. They will work closely with various departments to gather and verify payroll information, maintain payroll records, and comply with all relevant regulations and policies.



Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Processing: Collect and review timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant data to calculate employee wages, overtime, commissions, and bonuses accurately. Process payroll through the payroll system and ensure timely distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
  2. Payroll Compliance: Stay updated with local, state, and federal payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and company policies related to payroll processing.
  3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, salary changes, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.
  4. Deductions and Benefits: Manage deductions related to taxes, benefits, retirement plans, and other payroll-related items. Process and administer employee benefits and deductions accurately.
  5. Resolving Payroll Issues: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee complaints, and other payroll-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  6. Reporting: Generate payroll reports as required by management, finance, or regulatory authorities. Provide payroll-related data and analytics to support decision-making processes.
  7. Communication: Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Communicate payroll-related information to employees, such as changes in payroll policies or procedures.
  8. Payroll Software Management: Utilize payroll software to process payroll efficiently and maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of employee data.
  9. Audits: Assist in internal and external payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline the payroll process.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
  • Experience with ADP Payroll System.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience supporting US Payroll.
