Job Title: Operational Excellence Engineer

Location: Batam, Indonesia

Summary of Position:

Alcon is looking to hire an Operational Excellence Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team at Batam in Indonesia. The incumbent will focus on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods including designing arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure most efficient and productive layout, designing the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions, conducting tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshooting/solving production problems, providing guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques, ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with project leaders to eliminate barriers and potential blocker.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with employees across all levels and functions in organization.
• Managing administrations and site’s communication related to Continuous Improvement activities.
• Establish and maintain continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adherence to Alcon values and standards, to observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Code of Business Conducts.
• Identifying efficiency opportunities and driving for improvement process with operational excellence in the organization which result to site’s CIP Savings.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the processes and ensuring training programs align with business needs.
• Promote a structured problem-solving approach with high impact solutions.
• Continually expanding and enhancing knowledge of lean tools and principles to develop Continuous Improvement Culture within organization.
• Planning, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement events using PDCA & Kaizen tools which align with business focus.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Solid knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and quality principles (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma Green Belt).
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferably in Industrial Engineering.
• Statistical Technique understanding is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
• Good English proficiency, both written and speaking.
• Strong analytical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills.
