Who are we looking for?


We are looking for a Lead Rotating Engineer who will be responsible for the design, review and verification of engineering on assigned projects to ensure safe, high quality, fit for purpose design in addition to providing consultancy services and studies to our client Affiliates. As a lead you shall ensure Rotating engineering is aligned with all disciplines, executing the work within budget and on schedule whilst motivating and managing a team of engineers and designers and developing younger engineers.


Qualifications


  • Experience in selection and application of Rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, Extruders and machinery packages.
  • Complete project cycle (basic engineering and detailed engineering including construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning support) of green/ brown field projects is ideal.
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters degree beneficial but not essential
  • Comprehensive and in- depth knowledge is essential for handling of all the activities related to development /review of rotating equipment engineering deliverables during basic and detailed engineering phases of major projects.
  • Provide and develop appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues
  • Deep knowledge of relevant international codes i.e. API, ASME, ISO, PIP standards and Industrial practices and regulations
  • Shall possess knowledge to review/update and develop company's rotating equipment standards.
  • Work with vendor technical representatives to resolve equipment technical problems.
  • Pre-tender stage design
  • Secondment
  • Preparation of proposal for PDP and FEED
  • Typical FEED project size of circa 50,000 hrs.
  • Knowledge in Value Engineering techniques/ practices
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Able to do following
  • Ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets using sound technical knowledge and decision making skills
  • Supporting Procurement in meeting clients/vendors
  • Strong planning, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Capability to review and approve Rotating Equipment design i.e. Rotor dynamics and other mechanical design Reports.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, planning, communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Resolving operational / design issues
  • Capability to interpret Project standards , specifications , analyze exceptions when put up by vendors/contractors and to provide technical and engineering support to rotating equipment issues.
  • Typically 10 years’ experience in the petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil or gas industrial environments. Ideally, 7 years should be with a recognized international FEED/EPC contractor, performing rotating engineering to build green and brown field facilities in the petrochemical, or related chemical and Fertilizer industry.
  • Up to date with the latest technical developments in the respective fields of expertise
  • Scheduling, man-hour control, productivity and status reporting
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English Language
  • Experience in the following
  • Experience in preparation of Request for quotations, Material requisitions , evaluation of Technical offers , project specifications.
  • Rotating design specifically related to PDP & FEED
  • Train, coach and mentor
  • Manage all aspects regarding to rotating design engineering
  • Troubleshooting all rotating equipment-related malfunctions and shall have core strength to carryout Root Cause Analysis of plant's chronic problems and develop the solution for resolving such problems .

  • Preparing technical articles for publication and presentation at conferences

  • Experience in preparation of Mechanical Data sheets based on Process data sheets for rotating equipment.


Duties and responsibilities


  • Review, update and development the SES
  • Local Regulations – incorporation of local regulatory requirements into the engineering design
  • Identify other external best practices, scrutinize if it is feasible before it can become a norm.
  • Assure that Safety is always the first and the most important aspect all work related activities.
  • As required, participate in evaluating client's Rotating Equipment performance and make appropriate recommendation
  • Lead Technical Assurance Audits of larger mega projects to ensure that our client standards, Local Regulations and project specifications and requirements are followed by the Contractor.
  • Assure full compliance of Process Safety Design requirements for the project.
  • Review the following:
  • Evaluate waivers and clarifications of SES within PE&S KPI Targets
  • Design and develop PDP and FEED Rotating packages
  • EPC discipline documents and deliverables
  • Provide a Rotating engineering consultancy service to the Affiliates, Mega and Site Projects.
  • Support our client Technology and Innovation (STC) for the review, evaluation and development of the new Rotating Equipment Technologies
  • Estimating the required Rotating engineering man-hours for a project
  • Basic & detailed engineering documents
  • Technical bid clarification activities, face-to-face clarification meetings with bidders, technical evaluation reports, bidder ratings and other bidding cycle activities up to the award of contract.
  • Participation of Department initiatives.
  • Ensure no Rotating related NCRs during project life
  • Delivery, cost, schedule, planning and progress reporting
  • Act as Rotating Lead on Small size projects
  • Be responsible for the development of staff working under his control. Advise the Department Manager of deficiencies requiring training for correction. Transfer his personal skills to subordinates.
  • Key documents such as Rotor dynamics and other mechanical design Reports
  • Preparation of the project specific Rotating section Invitation To Bid (ITB) documents for mega projects.
  • Evaluate contractor and vendor pre qualification within PE&S KPI Targets
  • Participate in Technical Assurance Audit
  • Managing Rotating engineer’s utilization and productivity
  • Ensure the timely completion of all studies, designs, specifications, drawings and other documentation for areas of responsibility assigned to him.
  • Responsible for the following
  • ITB (Invitation to bid) Technical Part: Update ITB technical Rotating Equipment part) template
  • Review, development and approval of the project design, calculations, datasheets and drawings in line with the Rotating engineering requirements of the E&PM Technical Authority Schedule.
  • Provide technical assistance to other departments and groups as necessary.
  • On an ongoing basis, examine current Rotating Equipment processes to identify and implement Rotating Equipment improvements that will positively impact upon service, safety, environmental and cost performance.

  • Interviews stage


2.1 LHR Americas preliminary phone/video interview: A member of the Talent Acquisition team from LHR Americas will first schedule a call with you to discuss the details of the position, your interests, and qualifications. 2.2 Client Face to Face interview: This interview will happen only if your resume is approved by our client, we cannot guarantee the time our client will take to approve your resume, but it should take less than a week.


If your resume is approved a member of the Talent Acquisition Team will get back to you and schedule a face-to-face meeting in a defined location. You will be told to go to the location.
