Job Description

Requirements :

  1. Korean Language Proficiency: Possess native or near-native proficiency in the Korean language, including excellent verbal, written, and comprehension skills. A deep understanding of Korean grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation is essential. (TOPIK min.IV)
  2. Education and Qualifications: Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Korean language education, Korean studies, linguistics, or a related field. Additional certifications or teaching credentials specific to teaching Korean as a foreign language are advantageous.
  3. Teaching Experience: Prior experience in teaching Korean as a foreign language is highly desirable. Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or working with learners of different proficiency levels is an advantage.
  4. Cultural Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding and passion for Korean culture, history, and society. Familiarity with cultural nuances and the ability to integrate cultural elements into language instruction is beneficial.
  5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey language concepts and engage with students from diverse backgrounds. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students are crucial.
  6. Flexibility and Adaptability: Be adaptable and open to employing various teaching methodologies, techniques, and technologies to meet the evolving needs of students and the institution. Stay updated with advancements in language learning tools and resources.
  7. Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and other staff members to contribute to the institution's overall goals and objectives. Willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to curriculum development efforts is important.


Roles :

  1. Instruction and Lesson Planning: Design and deliver effective lessons that cater to the needs and proficiency levels of diverse learners. Create lesson plans, select appropriate teaching materials, and employ various instructional strategies to ensure students' language acquisition.
  2. Language Proficiency Assessment: Assess students' language proficiency levels through appropriate tests, assignments, and evaluations. Provide constructive feedback to help students identify areas for improvement and set goals for their language learning journey.
  3. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the institution's Korean language curriculum. Stay updated with current teaching methodologies, resources, and cultural trends to ensure a relevant and comprehensive curriculum.
  4. Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated, encouraged, and respected. Manage class dynamics, promote active participation, and address individual learning needs effectively.
  5. Cultural Knowledge: Foster students' understanding and appreciation of Korean culture, history, traditions, and customs. Integrate cultural elements into lessons and provide insights into the cultural nuances associated with the Korean language.
  6. Individualized Support: Provide individualized attention and support to students who require additional assistance in their language learning journey. Offer extra help, tutoring, or guidance outside of regular class hours.
