POSITION DETAILS


We are looking for a passionate, high-performing individual to join a collaborative program team of Delterra colleagues, external staff, and local partners in Indonesia as Institutional Coordinator/Senior Coordinator. We are seeking candidates with passion and experience in government relation, stakeholder management, waste management regulations and capability building.


Responsibilities include:


  • Workshop support: Facilitate workshop sessions on institutional matters along with our training and implementation teams.
  • Institutional coordination: Ensure that programmatic milestones are integrated and aligned across different levels of government. Prepare for regular meetings and partnerships with local government entities.
  • Reporting: Conduct and coordinate program reporting activities to ensure communities meet standards and expectations (e.g., financial report or Source Separation campaign report).
  • Capability building: Support the team in building materials to enable the communities to understand best practices in waste management governance.
  • Knowledge codification: Undertake institutional-related research, data collection and analysis on the waste management governance and public finance. Contribute to the production of program knowledge in institutional and financial sustainability matters.
  • Risk management: Observe, identify, and raise potential institutional issues to the institutional team and wider leadership, as required.


Qualifications


  • Proficient understanding of governance and administration pertaining to villages and/or municipalities. Familiarity with waste management regulations and public finance at the national, provincial, and local levels would be advantageous.
  • Experience in engaging village, regional, or local government authorities.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in environmental, Public Policy, Sustainability, Development & Governance and/or related fields.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills including work planning and milestone reporting, ability to recognize patterns and capture the learnings in a timely fashion.
  • Passion for contributing to society and making change happen in the environmental and/or waste space.
  • Professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English required (both written and spoken). Fluency in Balinese will be a plus.
  • Effective communication and persuasion abilities to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and audiences from different backgrounds.
  • Comfortable working with digital collaboration and communication tools (Microsoft 365, Slack, Miro, and Click Up), and excited to learn new tools and techniques.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, including strong engagement with public sector, and preferably experience in community empowerment and environmental-related issues.
  • Experience in waste management or broader related sustainability topics is preferred.
