About the Role

The successful applicant will join ESG’s Mining and Geotechnical Services Department. The Geophysical Data Processor will be responsible for providing 24/7 data service to clients around the globe. This individual will be required to have experience in mining and geotechnical data processing and to take initiative in trouble shooting various issues. This position requires someone who is punctual, organized, patient, adaptive, and can conduct some draft report writing.

About the position

• Adopt lean management principles to initiate more efficient processes.
• Provide on-call technical support to different clients when needed.
• Will be required to work on various shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am EST), including weekends, stat-holidays, and night shifts (11pm-7am).
• Identify and submit bugs and any software or IT related issues.
• Perform micro-seismic data processing from a variety of different mining sites.
• Create, maintain, and update auto report presets.
• Ensure that daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and bi-yearly reports are completed and submitted on time.
• Trouble shoot issues regarding processing, reporting, or client concerns.

About the requirements

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
• Computer background is considered an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs at the same time.
• Excellence in English writing and speaking.
• College and University Degree (Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Physics or related field is an asset).
• Coding skill will be considered an asset (Python, HTML).
• Comfortable performing repetitive analytical tasks.
• Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
• Computer hardware/electrical instrumentation proficiencies are an asset.
• Ability to problem solve, answer questions, and evaluate results of performance.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Spanish speaking and writing skill will be considered an asset.
• Ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions to create effective plans, etc.
