Job Description
: General Manager for SOS Indonesia Food Rescue Foundation
SOS Indonesia, the largest Food Rescue non-profit in Southeast Asia, is seeking a General Manager (GM) to lead the foundation to new heights. As a well-established organization, SOS operates in Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia, with a strong presence in Bali and recently expanded offices in Jakarta. SOS has already diverted 30 million meals away from the landfill (reducing methane gasses emissions) into the hands of people in need.. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and capable individual to take on the role of GM in Bali HQ, or in Jakarta leveraging SOS strategic location near corporate sponsors, large food donors, embassies, and government offices.
Responsibilities:
1.Business Acumen: As SOS operates with a structured approach, the GM must possess strong business acumen to effectively manage plans, budgets, and data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for conveying SOS’s impressive results smartly and representing our methods and approach.
2.Innovation: Each country GM is expected to contribute new concepts within the overall global vision of SOS. We require a forward-thinking individual who can introduce innovative initiatives, ensuring our vision remains vibrant and maximally serviced.
3.Leadership and Motivation: Building a cohesive team is paramount. The GM should possess exceptional people skills to motivate and inspire our staff, including drivers, food hunters, and administration personnel. Your role will involve developing individuals for higher roles, demanding more results, and fostering a dedicated and committed team.
4.Networking and Fundraising: The GM should have a well-established network and the ability to raise SOS’s profile with corporate sponsors, government agencies, and embassies. You will utilize statistics and strategic plans to convince partners and donors that SOS is a trustworthy and impactful foundation driving positive change.
5.Fundraising Ability: While others within SOS will contribute to fundraising efforts, the GM is the organization’s primary representative and must excel at fundraising on a global scale.
6.Effective Communication: The GM must possess exceptional communication skills and be well-versed in discussing the achievements and statistics of food rescue, the food industry, surplus foods, and SOS’s mission. You will be responsible for engaging stakeholders, internally and externally, through persuasive presentations and key messaging.
7.Reporting and Accountability: Proficiency in English is required to effectively summarize plans and results for SOS Global Headquarters in the United States. You will collaborate with local accounting teams, generating reports for both local and global accounting purposes.
8.Passion and Dedication: The ideal candidate will become deeply passionate about SOS’s work and mission. This role demands a commitment that goes beyond title, salary, and benefits, demonstrating a genuine desire to be a recognized leader dedicated to making a positive impact on society.
9.Trusted Leadership: The GM should be a respected and trusted leader within the organization, possessing expertise and being open to expanding that expertise. You will inspire trust from the team across all aspects of SOS’s operations.
10.Operational Strategy: The GM must possess the strategic insight and adaptability to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the food industry, employing a combination of intelligence and intuition to drive SOS’s operational success.
11.Compassionate Decision-making: Leading a large team in a unique industry presents challenges, but also tremendous rewards. The GM should possess a heart of gold, making decisions based on humanity rather than ego, and proudly guiding the SOS team to new heights.
If you are a results-oriented, innovative, and motivated leader with a passion for making a difference, we encourage you to apply for the role of General Manager at SOS Indonesia. Together, we can continue to rescue surplus food and transform lives in Southeast Asia, while impacting the environment greatly.
