Financial Accountant

Responsible for running the company accounting and financial activities. Able to analyse the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments, enabling these departments to make budgeting and investment decisions. A Financial Accountant also reports on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Examining financial records to check for accuracy
• Advising on estimates for project funding
• Conducting internal audits such as wage reviews
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
• Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
• Review and verify accuracy of financial and contract paperwork and processes
• Maintain the general ledger by processing all company invoices, payments, and purchases
• Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
• Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
• Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates
• Managing and training staff when necessary
• Creating KPI reports
• Tax reporting and inventory processing
• Summarize and prepare financial records and statements for external reporting

Qualifications

• A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
• Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
• 3+ years' accounting experience
• An analytical mind
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Accounting's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting
• Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
• Commercial and business awareness
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
