Environmental Superintendent Jobs

DIMENSIONS OF THE POSITION:

Report to Manager HSE, Environment & Social Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the implementation of environmental and social policies and procedures on a smelter plant construction project. This includes ensuring compliance with local regulations, identifying and managing potential environmental and social risks, and promoting sustainable practices.

ESSENSIAL DUTIES:

• Develop and deliver environmental and social awareness and training programs for project staff and contractors.
• Review and approve project plans and designs, ensuring they align with environmental and social requirements.
• Manage environmental and social incidents and emergencies, including reporting and investigation.
• Develop and implement environmental and social management plans for the project, in accordance with local laws and regulations and international best practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local communities and other stakeholders, and manage any grievances or complaints related to environmental and social issues.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with environmental and social standards.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including local communities, regulatory bodies, and NGOs, to ensure compliance with environmental and social requirements and standards.
