About The Engineering Manager (Java/Golang) Role

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute in product OKR creation and quarterly planning
• Design and enhance cutting edge services (existing and new) by setting a high standard for availability, scalability, and efficiency
• Lead the yearly and quarterly planning with mission to build a smooth execution plan and secure the delivery of the engineering roadmap. You are the ultimate owner of the successful delivery and rollout of engineering roadmap
• Actively participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards
• Attract and retain engineering talent, actively mentor and develop engineering talent in the team and across Traveloka. Deeply care about people's growth and career development
• Drive your teams forward by being objective and supportive, as well as raising the bar continuously by striving for great delivery and code quality
• Engage in service capacity and demand planning, software performance analysis, tuning, and optimisation
• Work with other leaders in employing your skills of technologies, communicating your ideas effectively and driving alignment with key stakeholders to create successful outcomes of business and engineering growth

To be succeed in this Engineering Manager (Java/Golang) role, you must have solid Backend development fundamentals and must have experience leading a team up to 15 people.

Key Requirements

• Good understanding of cloud infrastructure operation and security
• Experience in working with multiple stakeholders: product managers, data managers, QA manager, and designers
• Strong experience in designing and building complex, scalable and fault tolerant distributed systems
• Extremely proficient in Java programming language
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputable university
• Experience in leading or managing agile development team with 12 or more direct reports
• Strong experience in setting technical OKRs, KPIs, technical roadmap with a strong sense of ownership
• At least six years of technical leadership experience
• Have experience in implementing DevOps culture – Agility; Automation; CI/CD; Microservices; IaC
