Conservation Coordinator Jobs

Hutan Subur guest house is part of the Indonesian foundation Yayasan penduli linkungan untuk anak. The guest house is located outside of Bukit Lawang, only accessible by motorbike through a jungle path. The goal of the guest house is to attract visitors who will provide income for our projects and volunteers for education and sustainable farming.

This role is based at the guest house and volunteer accommodation on the Gunung Leseur National Park border near Bukit Lawang in Sumatra, Indonesia. The person in this role will assist the staff in the management of the guest house, including marketing, social media, creating links to other people and organisations. The guest house is part of an NGO, and programs managed by this guest house include guest accommodation, volunteer programs, waste collection, education and sustainable farming.

Accommodation, water, power and transportation are provided, and base income can be increased through commissions.

Our volunteer program at Hutan Subur plays a crucial role in addressing various social issues. We aim to solve these issues by promoting environmental conservation, supporting education, and implementing sustainable waste management practices.

Basic accommodations and meals are provided during the volunteer period.

Special Equipment for Volunteers:

While basic equipment and supplies will be provided, volunteers are encouraged to bring personal items such as comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, and toiletries. Any specific requirements will be communicated prior to their arrival.

Specific tasks:

One of the main tasks at the guest house for our coordinator will be to educate and support our staff to provide high quality service at our guest house for both guests and volunteers.

Your education and support may include educating our staff on ways to provide a high quality of service to our guest and volunteers.. The volunteer coordinator may support our staff in creating engaging timetables, maintaining a cleaning schedule ensuring that tasks around the guest house are completed and a high standard of guest service is maintained including cleanliness of the guest house and food preparation.

The volunteer coordinator and guest house manager also have the opportunities to create links to local farmers in the area, other NGOs, other businesses and services as well as other activities.

Please note that a fee needs to be paid for this position, including food, staff costs and some transport.
