We are currently Southeast Asia's largest and fastest growing Fashion Rental startup. Our core product is Fashion Rental Subscription using a “Netflix-for-Fashion” model, the first and only of its kind in the region. Today, we are focused on building more products to improve Fashion Consumption and driving these solutions across the region.

Job Summary

Our mission at Style Theory is to build a sustainable model for fashion consumption. We rely on the latest and best technology to build apps and services to ensure the women of Style Theory an intimate relationship with their “infinite wardrobe”. We are also constantly improving the experience both on the apps and the services through a series of iterations because we constantly listen to the feedback from the women of Style Theory, as well as ideas that we brainstormed to help achieve our mission above. With your help, we can achieve it even faster!

Back-end is the backbone of Style Theory. It is the chief support of a strong and healthy body! As a Backend Engineer, you will work to create a reliable, extensible and scalable backend services that will allow us to support our subscribers and allow us to experiment with new models that help achieve a sustainable fashion consumption.

We are looking for someone who has experience in building, deploying and maintaining backend services. We are also looking for someone who is familiar with the principles and application of Domain Driven Design.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Improve current system by helping to identify and solve glitches in our services.
• Help design and document new backend services.
• Help build our automation for testing, deployment and scaling current services.
• Work closely with Product team to improve Style Theory experience either for our customer-facing application or our internal tools.
• Prototype, build and test backend services.
• Help deploy new services and maintain current running services.
• Extends the functionality of current services by adding or removing certain features.

Qualifications And Skills

• Experienced with Scala is a plus.
• Experienced in building Event Sourced system is a great plus.
• Great understanding of domain driven design.
• Love to code.
• Great desire to learn and improve.
• Built something in Play! Framework.
• Great understanding of object-oriented software development.
• Experienced in using PostgreSQL.
