About The Appointed Actuary Role

Reporting to the business leaders, you will play a crucial role in the financial well-being and sustainability of this life insurance company. Your primary objective is to leverage your actuarial expertise to support our mission of providing comprehensive life protection to individuals and families while ensuring the long-term financial health of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support business development from an actuarial pricing perspective
• Communicate and present regular actuarial and business insights to local and regional stakeholder
• Build and lead the actuarial function
• Comply with regional and local statutory reporting requirements
• Set up and support the regular reserving and capital management process
• Develop strong relationships with other departments such as business development underwriting, risk and claims

To succeed in this Appointed Actuary role, you will apply your mathematical and statistical skills to develop and implement accurate and effective pricing models, risk assessments, and financial strategies.

Key Requirements

• Extensive understanding of local insurance product market, including pricing and actuarial product development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Robust understanding of local regulatory requirements, particularly from an actuarial perspective
• Ideally three years of management and leadership experience in an actuarial capacity
• Strong experience in actuarial software such as Prophet or AXIS
• 4 - 10 years of actuarial experience in a multinational life insurance firm
• FSAI certified
• Thorough experience in insurance reserving, pricing, and capital management
