A Commis II is a junior-level position in the kitchen of a restaurant or hotel. The primary responsibility of a Commis II is to assist the Chef de Partie in the preparation and presentation of food.

• Ability to follow instructions
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team

What is Commis Qualifications?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Culinary training or certification is preferred

What is Commis Knowledge?

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Knowledge of food presentation techniques

What is Commis Experience?

• Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred

What is Commis Responsibilities?

• Assist the Chef de Partie in the preparation and presentation of food
• Ensure that all food items are prepared according to recipes and standards
• Ensure that all food items are stored and handled properly
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Assist in the ordering and receiving of food items
• Assist in the preparation of special events and banquets
