Job Overview:
A WordPress Developer Intern at Kasual is a motivated ready-to-learn personality who eager to combine the art of design with the discipline of programming. Have significant part of IT team that will include helping the implementation and maintenance of multiple custom hand crafted sites as well as a small number of WordPress environments. In addition, this individual will learn to be responsible for analyzing and tuning page load times to achieve maximum application performance. This developer intern will need to interface closely with the existing teams to maintain highly optimized site applications.
Responsibilities:
Work with the development team to:

• Produce new user-facing features in Wordpress environment
• Deliver functional - testable code on or before due dates
• Optimize application for maximum performance and scalability
• Build reusable code and libraries both in backend and frontend
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders utilizing Agile methodologies

Skills and Requirements:

• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and REST APIs, AJAX and GraphQL
• Demonstrable knowledge in HTML5, CSS3 and MySQL
• Demonstrate knowledge in modern team and project management tools such as Jira and Slack
• Demonstrable knowledge in CSS Grid, Flexbox and Web components
• A strong understanding of WordPress APIs, theme hierarchy and custom Gutenberg block development
• Knowledge of Front-End Testing and Tooling
• Proficient understanding of accessibility in WordPress themes and page design
• Demonstrable knowledge in clean PHP8 object oriented coding standards
• Good documentation skills are a plus
• Demonstrate understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial, SVN
