Role Description

The Video Editor - Volunteer role is a remote role that requires talented Final Cut Pro or AdobePremiere (or another solid software) video editor who wants to add some captions on our educational videos and do basic editing for building your CV.10-15 hours per week ok for 3 months.Mostly async work ok.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English – both written and spoken.
• Certificate or BS degree in film studies, cinematography or related field
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
• Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
• Self-learner and ability to execute tasks without any supervision.
• Creative mind and storytelling skills
• Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism.
• Proven work experience as a Video Editor
• Wants to edit video on FCP or Adobe (or using another tool)

Responsibilities

Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience

Take a brief to graspteam’s needs and specifications

Cut-out long pauses, stutters, stammers, uhhmmsss, ahhhsss, sticky mouth etc.

Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the classes

Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects

Create rough and final cuts

Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running

Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
