Job Description
Job Responsibilities


  • Maintain detailed records of tool transactions, maintenance activities, and repair history. Generate reports on tool usage and availability.
  • Manage the organization's inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. This includes receiving, issuing, and tracking tools as they are checked in and out.
  • Issue tools and equipment to employees or departments based on their needs, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • Maintain accurate records of tools and equipment, including quantities, condition, and location. Perform regular inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspect tools and equipment for damage, wear, or defects. Arrange for repairs, maintenance, or replacement as needed.
  • Implement a tracking system (manual or digital) to monitor the movement and usage of tools and equipment, including due dates for returns.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment meet safety standards and regulations. Remove damaged or unsafe tools from circulation.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate orders for new tools or replacements when necessary. Coordinate with suppliers or vendors for timely deliveries.
  • Monitor tool-related expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize tool procurement and utilization.
  • Keep the tool room or crib organized and clean, with tools and equipment arranged for easy access and identification.


Qualifications


  • A strong commitment to safety and knowledge of safety protocols related to tool usage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot tool-related issues and find solutions efficiently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to identify and document tool condition and usage accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of various tools and equipment to perform inspections and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software or spreadsheet programs for tracking and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with employees, departments, and suppliers.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional education or training in tool management or inventory control is a plus.
