Project Instrument Manager Jobs

Responsibilities:

• Design instrumentation systems and components that meet needs and project’s requirements.
• Ensure compliance of codes, standards, regulations and practices applicable to design and construction (e.g. API, ASME, ANSI, AGA, ISA, etc).
• Managing a team of multi-disciplined team during construction and commissioning of Instrumentation and control type projects, ensuring the site is controlled and managed per the clients standards.
• Technically astute with all aspects of control and instrumentation (design basis to P&ID developments, field instrumentation, control and safety systems, etc.).
• Test and evaluate instrumentation project designs.
• Coordinate work sequences accordingly to set milestones dates to ensure completion according to the schedule.
• Ensuring that each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe.
• Alter and modify instrumentation design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions.
• Analyzing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to different teams.
• Provide effective leadership to maximize the efficiency of the team by encouraging a supportive and collaborative work environment.
• Ensure effective application of installation methodologies and enforce project and site standards.
• Produce instrumentation outline designs.
• Supervising staff and manufacturing processes and making appropriate recommendations for improvement.
• Coordinate site activities and various work execution phases to ensure compliance with all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) requirements.
• Oversight of multiple unit managers, and ensure all activities in the instrument department run as scheduled.
• Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging instrumentation problems in projects.
• Collaborating with other engineers and technical personnel to develop instructional manuals where necessary.
• Coordinate all appointed subcontractors for the various areas of responsibility in Instrumentation Project to ensure project targets are met.
• To coordinate and monitor all project plan jobs Instrumentation and contractors progress.

Qualifications:

• Willing to work at site.
• Have a good interpersonal communication skill.
• Able to calculate installation of material, based on hook-up drawing, cable tray rooting.
• Knowledge of Paper, Pulp, Rayon / Chemical industry.
• Should be able understand P&ID, process requirements, & data sheets.
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Strong integrity, ownership, and commitment to the role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation/Automation Engineering, Master Degree is an advantage.
• Have experiences in understanding and correction wiring diagram, hook-up cable tray riots, instrument air drawing etc., which are required for construction.
• Understand construction activity & able to supervise contractors.
• Minimum 10 years broad experience in all project phases i.e. Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) as the same position.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in large projects (involving 5,000-10,000 workers and a project value of over 2 billion USD).
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Mandarin capabilities is a point plus.
