An journalist is responsible for researching, investigating, and reporting on various economic, policy, technology, and entertainment topics, trends, and events. They analyze economic data, conduct interviews with experts, and write articles or produce content that provides insights and understanding of economic issues to the public.


Role Description

This is an on-site internship role for a Journalist. The Journalist will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with news writing, broadcasting, press releases as well as conducting research for articles.


Responsibilities

Research and Analysis:

Gather and analyze economic data, reports, and studies to identify trends, patterns, and significant events in the economy. Interpret complex economic concepts and translate them into understandable content for the target audience.


Reporting and Writing:

Write informative, accurate, and engaging articles, news pieces, opinion pieces, and features related to economic developments. Craft clear and concise narratives that explain economic concepts, policies, and their implications.


Interviews:

Conduct interviews with economists, policymakers, business leaders, and other relevant experts to gather insights and quotes that add depth and context to economic stories.


Fact-Checking:

Ensure the accuracy of information and data presented in articles. Verify sources and cross-reference information to maintain credibility.


Monitoring Trends:

Stay updated with domestic and international economic trends, financial markets, policy changes, and geopolitical events that could impact the economy. Report on breaking news and provide analysis in a timely manner.


Editorial Collaboration:

Collaborate with editors, fellow journalists, and other team members to refine story ideas, angles, and approaches. Incorporate feedback to enhance the quality of reporting.


Multimedia Content:

Depending on the platform, produce multimedia content such as videos, podcasts, infographics, and interactive graphics to engage a wider audience.


Networking:

Build and maintain a network of contacts within the economic and financial sectors, including experts, analysts, policymakers, and business leaders, to stay informed and access relevant information.


Objectivity and Ethics:

Adhere to journalistic standards of objectivity, accuracy, and integrity. Avoid conflicts of interest and uphold ethical guidelines in reporting.


Adaptation:

Adapt to changes in the economic landscape and adjust reporting strategies to cover emerging trends, crises, and opportunities.
